Lizzie joined Pender Ventures in 2024 to lead the firm's applied AI initiatives and support early-stage deal sourcing, evaluation, and portfolio company engagement. She brings a hands-on technical background, having designed and built custom LLM applications, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and data pipelines across industries including fintech, marketing, and engineering.
Prior to Pender, Lizzie worked as a Venture Associate at an evergreen, donation-based Seed fund, while simultaneously developing AI course content for Udacity's "AI for Trading" program. Earlier in her career, she worked in quantitative research, building AI trading systems from scratch at a fintech startup.
Lizzie holds a Master of Management from UBC's Sauder School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in AI (Cognitive Systems) from UBC, where she was a Chancellor's Scholar.
She is passionate about using AI to reengineer how venture investors discover, evaluate, and support startups.
