Lesedi joined Pender in June 2026 as an Analyst on the Alternative Absolute Return Fund. In her role, she focuses on quantitative risk research, empirical asset pricing, and building statistical models to support the team’s hedge fund strategies.
Lesedi has over a decade of hands-on commercial experience. A qualified Chartered Surveyor, Lesedi previously founded and ran her own real estate business in South Africa. As a Non-Executive Director, she was the Chairperson of the investment committee of a asset management company.
Lesedi is currently a PhD student in Real Estate Finance at the University of Cambridge. She is also a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of British Columbia, where her research centres on real estate, asset pricing and machine learning applications.
While at the University of Cambridge, Lesedi was a Teaching Associate for the Master of Philosophy in Real Estate Finance program. This extensive operational background gives her a practical, fundamentally grounded perspective when evaluating market inefficiencies.
Away from her desk, Lesedi enjoys fashion and is a competitive netball player, as well as a dedicated rugby fan.
