At Pender, we recognize the importance of creating opportunities for women to grow, lead and thrive in their careers. As part of our commitment to professional development, members of our team recently attended The Art of Leadership Women conference in Vancouver, one of Canada's premier events dedicated to advancing and empowering women in the workplace.
Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the conference brought together accomplished leaders, entrepreneurs, authors and change-makers to share insights on leadership, resilience, career growth and personal development. This year's speaker lineup included business leaders and thought leaders such as Joanna Griffiths, founder of Knix, former Minister for Women and Gender Equality Marci Ien, leadership expert Ashley Herd, culture and wellness advocate Nidhi Tewari, and Harvard Business School professor Dr. Leslie John.
Throughout the day, attendees explored topics particularly relevant to women in leadership, including building confidence, navigating career advancement, fostering inclusive workplace cultures, embracing authentic leadership and empowering others to succeed. The sessions offered practical strategies and meaningful perspectives on the opportunities and challenges women continue to encounter across industries.
Beyond the keynote presentations, the conference provided an opportunity to connect with a community of inspiring women leaders, exchange ideas and gain fresh perspectives on leadership in today's evolving workplace.
Investing in the growth and development of women within our organization is an important part of building a stronger, more inclusive future. We are proud to support opportunities that encourage learning, inspire confidence and empower our team members to continue making meaningful contributions at Pender and beyond.
