At Pender, we believe that when women have the knowledge and confidence to take control of their financial futures, families, businesses and communities all benefit. This week, members of the Pender team attended the 2026 Her Wealth Financial Symposium: The Future is Female, hosted by Her Wealth Society at The Vancouver Club.
The sold-out symposium brought together about 200 women and allies for a full day focused on women, wealth, longevity and leadership. Sessions featured leaders from across investment management, law, estate planning, real estate and health. Speakers included Her Wealth Society co-founders Laura Furtado and Seth Allen of Cadence Financial Group, Kelsey Dunwoodie of Deans Knight Capital Management, Emily Davies of Linde Equity, Rachana Bhat of TD Asset Management, family and divorce therapist Alyson Jones, and Dr. Karen van Wyk of Healthcode for Women.
Throughout the day, attendees explored topics particularly relevant to women building and protecting wealth over a lifetime. These included building resilient portfolios in a changing market environment, estate and legacy planning, navigating major life transitions with financial confidence, and understanding how midlife health connects to long-term wellbeing. With women in Canada expected to control a growing share of the country's wealth in the years ahead, the conversations offered timely and practical perspectives for professionals and investors alike.
Beyond the sessions, the symposium offered a valuable opportunity to connect with a community of women in finance and related fields, exchange ideas and build relationships that extend well beyond the event.
