PenderFund was honored to sponsor the 18th annual Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremonies, celebrating the 2024 Laureate Inductees: Anthony von Mandl, K. Barry Marsden, Karen Flavelle and Brian Hill.

The Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame was established by Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) to recognize the province’s most accomplished and impactful business leaders. These individuals have played a pivotal role in shaping both the province and the country through their exceptional leadership and contributions.

This year, the gala set a new fundraising record by generating $1.2 million. These funds will enable JABC to continue delivering transformative programs to youth across urban, rural and Indigenous areas, impacting more than 600,000 young people. Over the past years, Pender has been a dedicated donor and sponsor of JABC, significantly contributing to the positive development of countless young lives.

In September, Kelly Edmison, Pender chair and co-founder, will lead another cohort of students in the Company Program, an 18-week entrepreneurship camp hosted at Pender’s headquarters in downtown Vancouver. Many students who have participated in this program have achieved great success, winning scholarships and prizes through JA. This includes Tiffany Spurgeon, who had the honour of speaking at this year’s gala.

Pender remains committed to supporting JABC and looks forward to continuing its efforts to empower B.C. youth through these valuable initiatives.
